Poker Table Overlay
Overview
The Poker Table Overlay lets you display key information from your database directly on your poker tables. This "heads-up display" (HUD) lets you see the most relevant information about your opponents without switching to the Live Tracker window. You can customize the display so that you see only the statistics that you're most interested in.
The Overlay allows you to see several categories of information:
- Statistics - view your opponents' preflop and postflop tendencies
- Odds - view your pot odds and/or your hand's current rank and outs
Player moves - an extremely useful feature if you're multi-tabling; the overlay shows every action by your opponents on every street:
- x = check
- c = call
- b = bet
- r = raise
- a = all-in
- | = separator for each street (preflop | flop | turn | river)
- bet amount can be useful for no-limit and tournament players
Mucked cards
On many sites, you can see all players' cards that were mucked at showdown. The sites say that they do this to help prevent collusion, but, of course, it can be very useful to know what hands your opponents took to a showdown. PokerOffice can read those hand histories in real time and display your opponents' mucked cards on the screen immediately after showdown. PokerOffice can also display mucked board cards.
NEW Popup Windows
In addition to the overlay statistics that are always displayed, PokerOffice5 can display popup windows that provide more detailed information about a specific player. The following popup windows are available and are described more fully in the following section:
- More Detailed Statistics
- Player Notes
- Preflop Hands
- Flop Hands
You can read more about using the popup windows or about customizing the popup windows.
Customize Poker Table Overlay: Table Tab
From the Main Program, you can customize the Overlay settings by clicking the Customize Poker Table Overlay icon or by selecting Customize Poker Table Overlay from the Live Tracker menu. A new Poker Table Overlay Settings window will open, giving you a number of configuration options. Note that any changes that you make will generally take effect at the beginning of the next hand.

Choose Statistics to Display
PokerOffice gives you a great deal of control over what statistics your HUD will display and how they will appear.
At the top of the Overlay Settings window, the Available Statistics panel shows all of the statistics that can be displayed in the overlay. Choose a statistic from this panel and click Add to move that statistic to the Selected Statistics panel. All of the statistics in the Selected Statistics panel will be displayed on your overlay.
You have several options for working with the selected statistics. Choose a statistic in the selected statistics panel and then click the Up and Down buttons to change the order of the selected statistics. The Remove button will remove the selected statistic while the Clear button will remove all of the selected statistics.
Click the "filter data" button to limit the data that is displayed for each statistic. Please refer to the Live Tracker | Customize Data help section for more information on these filtering options.
For a definition of the available statistics, please see the Glossary. Note that for most statistics, there is a "session" statistic, reflecting only statistics from the current session, and a general statistic, reflecting all of the data in your PokerOffice database (as modified by any filter settings you may be using). So "Saw Flop %" will show the percentage of hands where this player saw the flop out of all hands that you have recorded for this player; "Saw Flop % Session" will show the percentage of hands where this player saw the flop out of all hands in the current session only.
Immediately below the two statistics panels is a row that allows you to customize the way each statistic is displayed in the overlay. Choose a statistic in the Selected Statistics panel then type text into the Name: box to change the way that the statistic will be displayed on the Overlay. The Decimals box allows you to display 0 or 1 decimal for each statistic.
Finally, you can choose to assign Colors to particular ranges for a statistic. Many statistics have default color ranges; for example, Pre Flop Raise % will be displayed in green if the player's range is between 1% and 5% and red if it's over 5%. Change any of the default settings or add new ones to reflect your particular game.
Customize the Statistics Display
The Statistics panel in the lower left of the Settings window allows you to customize the way that the Overlay statistics are displayed on your poker tables. Choose the Background (transparent or opaque) and Font Size that look best on your particular poker tables.
You can choose to display statistics in either one or two rows by clicking on the appropriate radio button; if you choose to display two rows of data, you can choose how many statistics are displayed on each row by typing a number into the "Nr of stats on row 1" box. Use this option together with the up and down buttons to customize exactly how the statistics are displayed on your table. By default, PokerOffice places a legend (i.e. a list of the statistics being used) in the upper left of your poker tables. If you wish to remove this legend, uncheck the box that reads "Draw names on table."
Click the "Show Own Player" box to display your own statistics on the table. Note that as your database grows, calculating and auto-rating your own player becomes quite performance-intensive. Moreover, since displaying your lifetime statistics on the overlay is generally unnecessary, you may prefer to turn off your statistics entirely, or to display only your session stats.
Displaying the session statistics for your own player can be quite handy as it shows you how you are perceived by the other players around the table, also known as your table image.
Finally, you can choose to display a table summary; as with the Live Tracker windows, this will display the table average for your selected statistics.
Customize the Odds Display
The Odds panel in the bottom center of the Settings window allows you to customize the way that Odds are displayed on your poker tables. Choose the Colors and Background (transparent or opaque) that look best on your particular poker tables.
You can choose to display the pot odds (which compares the total pot size to the amount that you must put into the pot to call the current bet). You can also choose to show your hand's current rank and your outs to improve to a better hand.
Player Moves
PokerOffice can display all of your opponents' actions for the current hand directly on the poker table. This is invaluable when you're multitabling and you want to quickly review the past action before deciding on your action.
Choose the Text Color, Background (transparent or opaque) and Font Size that look best on your particular poker tables. Determine whether you want to display only moves (probably best for limit hold'em) or moves and amount (probably best for no-limit).
The players' actions are displayed as follows:
- x = check
- c = call
- b = bet
- r = raise
- a = all-in
- | = separator for each street (preflop | flop | turn | river)
General Options
On some sites, the Overlay statistics can obscure the showdown display. You may therefore wish to use the Hide Stats at Showdown option.
Use the Show Mucked Cards option to see what cards your opponents mucked with at showdown. If you're playing on a site where your opponents' cards are displayed in your hand histories, PokerOffice can read those hand histories, and display your opponents' mucked cards on the screen immediately after showdown. You may also want to Show Mucked Board which will show you the final board for the just-completed hand. You can choose how long to show the mucked cards / board by using the two drop down menus next to the check boxes.
File options: the buttons at the bottom of the Overlay settings window allow you to create a New settings panel; Open a saved panel; Save or Save as your current panel; Delete a saved panel, or Cancel your changes.
Using the Popup Windows
Access the popup windows by left or right-clicking on the appropriate icon on the table overlay:

Close the popup windows by clicking the X in the corner of the window.
More Detailed Statistics Popup
Left-clicking this icon (upper left) opens a popup window that provides additional statistics for a particular player. Click any of the check boxes and then click the "update" button to refine those statistics based on the player's position.
- Ep = Early Position
- Mp = Middle Position
- Lp = Late Position
- Bu = Button
- Sb = Small Blind
- Bb = Big Blind
The statistics that are displayed will now be limited to hands collected when the player was in the selected position(s). Note that the definition of Early, Middle, and Late position will vary depending on the number of players in the hand:
- EP is the first player after the blinds in a 4-7 player game or the first two players in an 8-10 player game
- MP is the next player in a 5-7 player game; the next two players in 8-9 player games; the next three players in a 10 player game
- LP never includes the button; LP is the player just before the button in a 6-8 hand game and the two players before the button in a 9-10 hand game
Preflop Hands Popup
LEFT-clicking this icon (lower right) opens a popup window that displays a list of the player's known starting hands. You can filter those hands by either position (same as above) or by the player's preflop actions:
- PFR = Pre Flop Raise
- RFI = Raised first in
- CC = Cold Call
- 3B = Made a 3 bet
- 4B = Made a 4 bet
- Li/RR = Limped-reraised (first limped then 3bet or 4bet after another player raised)
Click any of the position or action check boxes and then click the "update" button to filter the preflop hand display. Now, only the hands that meet your selections will be displayed.
Using these filters can help give you a better read on your opponent, because you can see what hands he had when he took similar preflop actions in the past. For example, if you select Bb and 3B, you may discover that, in the past, your opponent only 3-bet out of the big blind with his very strongest hands.
NOTE that if you select any of the check boxes, your selection will persist the next time you open this popup for that particular player.
Flop Hands Popup
RIGHT-clicking this icon (lower right) opens a popup window that displays a list of the various types of flops that a player has seen. Again, you can click any of the check boxes and then click the "update" button to refine those statistics based on the player's flop action.
Again, using these filters can help give you a better read on your opponent, because you can see what hands he had when he took similar flop lines in the past. You may discover, for example, that your opponent rarely makes a continuation bet without at least a pair.
NOTE that if you select any of the check boxes, your selection will persist the next time you open this popup for that particular player.
Notes Popup
Click the notepad icon to write notes on a player; your notes will be saved in the PokerOffice database and will be accessible when you're offline.
Customize the Popup Windows
Customizing the Popup windows is similar to customizing the Overlay. Start in the Main Program by clicking the Customize Poker Table Overlay icon or by selecting Customize Poker Table Overlay from the Live Tracker menu. The Overlay Settings window will appear; at the top you'll find two tabs: one for the Table and one for Popups. Select the Popups tab and you'll see options for configuring the various popup windows.

Statistics Popup
The top section of the window allows you to configure the Statistics Popup. If you've already spent time customizing the table overlay, this section will look familiar. Thus, the Available Statistics panel shows all of the statistics that can be displayed in the Statistics Popup. Choose a statistic from this panel and click Add to move that statistic to the Selected Statistics panel. All of the statistics in the Selected Statistics panel will be displayed in the Popup.
You have several options for working with the selected statistics. Choose a statistic in the selected statistics panel and then click the Up and Down buttons to change the order of the selected statistics. The Remove button will remove the selected statistic while the Clear button will remove all of the selected statistics. You can use dividers (at the bottom of the Available Statistics panel) to further organize your display.
Click the Filter Data button to limit the data that is displayed for each statistic.
Immediately below the two statistics panels is a row that allows you to customize the way each statistic is displayed. Choose a statistic in the Selected Statistics panel then type text into the Name: box to change the way that the statistic will be displayed on the Overlay. The Decimals box allows you to display 0 or 1 decimal for each statistic.
You can also choose to assign Colors to particular ranges for a statistic. Many statistics have default color ranges; for example, Pre Flop Raise % will be displayed in green if the player's range is between 1% and 5% and red if it's over 5%. Change any of the default settings or add new ones to reflect your particular game.
At the bottom of this section is a checkbox that allows you to determine whether the popup icon will be visible from the table overlay. A drop down menu lets you choose the transparency of the popup.
Hole Cards & Flop Cards Popup
Use the checkbox to determine whether the popup icon will be visible from the table overlay. A drop down menu lets you choose the transparency of the popup.
Notes Popup
