I have no idea what your problems are but this is what I'd do. I'm a simple man who lives on potatoes and bread. I'll write things simply and maybe I'll explain things that needn't be explained..I'm sorry if that's the case but in real life I'm an alcoholic, I slurr a lot and people don't understand what I'm saying. I also like bears and stuff.

Starting at the beginning...

Go to My Computer>Properties>Advanced>StartUp and Recovery>

there you will find a checkbox under system failure..its says auto reboot or auto restart..
uncheck it.

This will enable you to see your blue screen info.
(You can readily type the error number in google (the 0x000000liketyspit bit) if you wish and the links displayed will likely take you to a microsoft page explaining what the error means. If you're a lucky fellow the blue screen error page may also give you the file name which is causing the problem.

There may be a page at microsoft explaining your exact error and what you need to do to cure it. Read carefully though because your error will be similar to many other errors and their solution may not be yours.

Another option is to just restart in safe mode...restart and press F8 during the restart to see startup options. Choose safe mode from the list. This loads the bare minimum of drivers. If PO runs fine in that mode, you may then begin to narrow things down...

As someone said earlier it may be a third party program or third party service which is interfering. It's a bit fiddley to find the cause sometimes but you can use msconfig to disable startups...(or use autoruns and process explorer from sysinternals they are better)

start>run>type msconfig
...on the General tab, click Selective Startup button..

uncheck...load startup items...

then go to services tab...hide all microsoft services and uncheck all the others (oh and remember which things you check and uncheck so you can put them back later)

This is just a process of elimination. Do the above first ..ok it in msconfig and then restart your computer normally and run PO - see what happens. If it cures itself (if it doenst cure itself then see below*)then you know that either one of the start up items is to blame or one of the non-microsoft services.
You can start putting the startup items back one by one (or two by two if you'd rather) using msconfig (a list of your startup items will be found on the msconfig startup tab)

*It doesnt cure itself...go back to msconfig > general tab>selective start up and then click to clear all check boxes except the Load System Services check box.
Apply and OK that, rebstart and run PO again.

It's not easy to type every single stage on here but the above steps and any further steps you take using msconfig are a process of elimination. Take out and put back the startup items and the non-microsoft services. Hopefully sooner rather than later you will find the bad potato.

When you have located the particular driver causing the problem. You can uninstall. Either by uninstalling the program using control panel>add remove programs or by uninstalling a driver with My Computer>Properties>Device Manager.

If the program is an essential one then you may need to reinstall it and get a driver update.
(however an uninstall and reinstall of that program may be all you need to be problem free) A free tool such as aida32 personal is a good one for giving you some more detailed information about your particular hardware, should you need to get updates for your video or sound card etc.

A java issue has been mentioned on the forums. I don't know if this could be a problem. It's possible, usually, to uninstall java from control panel>add/remove programs - Java in the list.
You can verify your current java installation here
You can get previous versions of java from java.com if you need to...dunno whether I would though, the updated versions generally are a cure for bugs in previous versions.

If it does turn out to be a video card problem - and you have got the latest drivers and installed those..then I don't know. I'd have to dig a beat deeper and eat some more potatoes.

It would be a shame to pay out $100 or so for a useful program and then see it go to waste.
