Hello,
Try this:
1. The language needs to be set in english in your client
2. You need to play at the normal-sized tables to get the overlay to work
3. Enable Statistics needs to be checked (found under statistics under the Ongame menu)
4. At least one full column needs to be checked at options->preferences->chat in the Ongame client
