Default Is overlay data the key to winning??

Good morning all.

I am new to Poker Office (PO) and can play poker for a year and still end up with the same $200 I started with. I play sit and go tourn 10 handed on $15.

My question is this. What stats do people use on the table overlay (& how many) and how do they incorporate this into decision making.

Ill give you an example of when I was rubbish. 4 handed 75/150 blinds. Just lost half my stack to 66 with AKs. Im in the big blind. The loosist of the loose button raises to 450. He has 2200 I have 1700. I have 10's so raise all in to take the money. Mistake???? Yes, he calls with 10 9s and hits the straight. Although the odds were 85% to 12.5% in my favour I think the answer is AVOID THE IDIOT AT ALL COSTS ON THE BUBBLE.

So back to my question. How do we use this software effectively. IS the key the overlay stats??

Overlay statistics are definitely a big help when it comes to making the correct decision; however, in standard spots as the one described above I'm afraid they won't save you. You really need to put your chips in the middle and hope for a double-up or a fold from your opponent.

Yep, overlay stats is the key.
The most used and important are (this is a short list) :
- VPIP
- Pre Flop Raise
- 3-Bet Pre Flop
- Fold To 3-Bet Pre Flop
- Attempt To Steal Blinds
- Continuation Bet Flop
- Fold to Continuation Bet Flop
- Agression Factor Total (and/or Aggr. Factor for each street : preflop, flop, turn, river )
- Went To Showdown
- Won $ At Showdown

And depending of the position at the table.

I agree. 3 bet is really useful too. Spotted today that a player I see all te time 3 bets 50% flop. Really worth knowing as my 4 bet proved useful.
