Default PO, Vista, Internet Explorer crash, pshimp.Dll

I have recently upgraded to a new computer with Vista and am constantly having problems like internet explorer crashing and getting the following windows error message "Windows Host Process Rundll32 has Stopped Working" with this information in the event viewer

"Faulting application rundll32.exe, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp 0x4549b0e1, faulting module pshimp.Dll, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4704a8f8, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00008a62, process id 0xdb0, application start time 0x01c86b67c678f121."

Problem seems to be related to the pshimp.Dll found in C:\program files\Poker Office\bin which is apparently needed if you play poker on Poker Stars.

Workarounds seem to be to either use an alternative internet browser or if you dont use Poker Stars to delete or rename the pshimp.Dll.

Question is: When will this bug be permently fixed? Also when can us Vista users expect to enjoy full Vista support from Poker Office?

My subscription for PO is comming up for renewal - pity it such a useful piece of software. I have been looking around for an alternative - no success - would really like to continue using this software - but given all the problems I have been experiencing since getting Vista (e.g. PO shutting down when leaving a table - most annoying when playing multi table tournaments, Player stats not visible when using like tracker and the annoying Internet Explore crashes and Rundll32 issue) - I may just be moving off to one of the rival software applications when it comes time to renew my subscription.

Hope these Vista issues get sorted soon

This will be permanently fixed once official support for Vista is released. I know you've heard this before, but I still haven't received any set date for when this will happen. I'll make sure to let you all know once I do hear anything futher about it. I'm experiencing the same thing when using Explorer btw, and it's indeed quite annoying.

they havnt told you a set date has been the excuse for months and months and months....we don't need an exact date, how about giving a month.
I simply do not believe the conversation goes..hey our customers are getting upset about the time it's taking for an update, whens it due? - tell them it is coming - oh ok then....

it's coming for 12 months is not good enough... pokertracker3 is beta testing and release is end of feb, I DO NOT want to switch over, so please ask them to be a bit more specific about the time scales.....

Since PokerOffice is a bit more intricate that other poker software (we need to integrate with the poker clients and Windows, not just calculate stats) It is very dependent on the underlying Windows to work properly, Windows Vista is not working properly as of now, it has thousands of bugs and I can assure you that we understand exactly how you feel, since we feel the exact same thing for Microsoft and Vista. We are waiting for them to fix thier bugs. All we can do in the meanwhile is to make qualified quesses and test certain things on each release. Our aim is to have it 100% working with Vista and we have got some very good results lately. You seem to have much more problems than any of our Beta tester have had, I am not really sure what it could be, but I think the only possible thing is that you have different security settings or a different version of Vista. I guess that you have looked through the other Vista threads here on the forum which have some solutions to different security related bugs in Vista, if not make a search here on the forum and browse through them.

Default Month later...

Hello,

I use Vista too and the problem still exists.
Is there a solution for it? Why does the problem occure when PO is not in use and my PokerClient is not started?
It is very disappointing.

Please help.

Regards

Marcus

I've been using vista and P.O. for a year now on new pc. I use firefox as browser no problems. I've been using vista and P.O. for a year now on new pc. I use firefox as browser no problems. And if you happen to have to use internet explorer, for instance party poker client checking your account they put you in IE, when you close the window and pop up comes up just click red "X" to close pop up, it doesn't crash.
Good Luck
