Unable to connect to any poker servers except paradise!!!

Hi everyone,

I am having a huge problem connecting to every single poker server out there including, pokerstars, jetset, true poker, the gaming club, pacific, party, ub, empire, planet, full tilt, and poker room! I can connect successfully to paradise poker, however, I really don't like their site and would love to connect to poker stars. Every other aspect of my internet seems to be working fine as I can use my web browser and Instant message programs just fine. Also, this cannot be a problem with the router as both of my roommates can connect with no hassles to all of these sites. The problem lies within my own hard drive and computer. I have run antivirus software as well as spyware to check for any "bugs" in the system. My computer is as clean as a baby's ass and I have restarted several times. Please someone help me with these connection problems, I can't even get to the login screen for most of these sites. I really appreciate it and I hope to lose my money to you soon! lol

Sounds like a firewall problem...What OS are you using? XP comes with a firewall. Are you using a Norton Internet Security type program? This could also be blocking your connection.

I am using XP but even when I turn my firewall off I still cannot connect! I also do not have any firewall programs on my computer such as norton.

hmmm..First off don't turn your firewall off, bad idea.

1)Reboot your computer.
2)Go to: Settings-Control Panel-Windows Firewall
3)See if your Firewall is On
4)Of the Tabs up top Click: Exceptions
This will list programs that are allowed through your windows firewall. Make sure any programs you want to be connectable have a check mark in the box. If you do not see your poker programs listed:

5)Click: Add Programs
Find the program you want to add usually in your Programs Folder in your main drive. Double click the .exe file to add it to the list.

6)Repeat the steps for each client.

7)Reboot your computer.

If this doesn't work, and you're sure you don't have any type of Virus/Internet Security program running then, I'm out of ideas.

I have the same problems as you...except I always have to add programs to my Norton list. It's important to reboot your computer as the first step to make sure the processes aren't running in the background. If you want to check yourself do a Ctrl+Alt+Del and see if you see the poker clients running under the processes tab. Rebooting is cleaner though since you might not be able to end all the processses associated with the programs.

Just noticed in your first post you ran an Anti-Virus program...which one? It might contain a firewall that you're not aware of.
