Default Error: "Validate Settings"

Just purchased and installed Poker Office: love it. One problem: when I try to run Live Tracker while in Full Tilt Poker, after it runs for a brief time (5 to 15 minutes), an error message appears on the screen (white text in a blue box) that says "Validate Settings..." at which point my laptop shuts down completely (!). I also found this error using MSN games although I'm not sure what the connection is. Checking event viewer, I found only the following:

Generate Activation Context failed for C:\Program Files\PokerOffice\bin\Microsoft.VC80.MFC\MFC80.DLL . Reference error message: The operation completed successfully.
.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Resolve Partial Assembly failed for Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC. Reference error message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.
.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC could not be found and Last Error was The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Note that these errors appear whenever I simply fire up the program but don't seem to have an effect on the program (excluding the Live Tracker function), so I don't think that's the case.

My laptop is a Compaq EVO 1000 with 1 GB RAM and a decent processor using XP SP 2 fully patched / updated. I've checked this problem with HP/Compaq tech support, which was useless ("It's your software!"). A tech friend of mine suggested a resource conflict of some variety but wasn't able to get more specific. Microsoft's database was not helpful.

I have not installed the beta fix for using Poker Office: I understand there's an issue with not using default window sizes (however, I only use the default window size).

Has any one run into this problem and/or have any suggested fixes? (I can use the software without the Live Tracker of course but would like to get the full functionality of the software if at all possible). Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm still trying to solve this problem, which only occurs when Poker Tracker is active. What does the overlay use when running (i.e. Flash, Java, something else)? [I'd like to try uninstalling and reinstalling that resource(s) if possible]

Duh, nevermind - Java. Haven't found any help on Sun's forums either.

Nevermind again - figured out a solution (regressed my Java to an older version which fixed it)
