Are you using Java for anything special on your computers? You might try to uninstall your Java since PO already has a built in Java version. It might be some rare case where the PO Java and your installed Java do not work well together.

Where are you playing, does it for example only happen if you Play at PartyPoker and trun PO off. Or doe sit not matter what poker sites you have played at.

I'm not using java for anything except PO. When I try to uninstall it I cant find java in the add/remove programs list only Java(TM) 6 Update 4 and Java(TM) 6 Update 5. Shall I remove them?

That was strange, are you sure that you do only have the updates installed and not the core installation of Java?

Anyway the updates are not need for PO to work, all you need is in the PokerOffice installer you should not install any other Java version or and updates.

You might want to try and remove those Java updates (I am not 100% sure they are not needed for anything else but they are not needed for PO)

You might also want to try and reinstall PO completely. If you do make sure that you first make a backup of your database as it will also bu uninstalled when you uninstall PO.

Same here.
I just bought a new workstation, Intel everywhere.
I play Ongame, pokerroom.
I tried PO and everytime it shuts down, i get a rebbot+blue screen.
I get the same is i try to shut javaw.exe manually while PO is opened.
I use the evaluation program, without licence, and without any hand imported, since i don"t want to use it as long as i cannot shut it down.
If there is no answer to this problem soon, I will go to PS and buy Poker tracker. I read many forum saying that this program is better in many ways, but I wanted to stick with ongame SNG.
So please, M. Poker Office, do something for us.

[quote=Administrator;35093]This must be some kind of thrid part software issue. PO itself on a healthy computer shoulf not cause any blue screen.
>What is more healthy than a BRAND NEW COMPUTER ? (I did all the program installation by myself : Windows XP, all the drivers, pokerroom, PO = bug.

Try to figure out if you have any antivirus/registry/spyware/firewall software that is working on the lowest layer and in some way is blocking PO.
no, no, no, no, i even disabled Windows Firewall.

There is one known crash (which possibly also could cause blue screen). This occurs when playing on PokerStars and PO is not installed correctly (again due to antivirus/firewall software that simply refuse to let PO save files and run them on your computer).

Do you play in PokerStars?
not yet, probably soon, but without PO. /quote]

I have no idea what your problems are but this is what I'd do. I'm a simple man who lives on potatoes and bread. I'll write things simply and maybe I'll explain things that needn't be explained..I'm sorry if that's the case but in real life I'm an alcoholic, I slurr a lot and people don't understand what I'm saying. I also like bears and stuff.

Starting at the beginning...

Go to My Computer>Properties>Advanced>StartUp and Recovery>

there you will find a checkbox under system failure..its says auto reboot or auto restart..
uncheck it.

This will enable you to see your blue screen info.
(You can readily type the error number in google (the 0x000000liketyspit bit) if you wish and the links displayed will likely take you to a microsoft page explaining what the error means. If you're a lucky fellow the blue screen error page may also give you the file name which is causing the problem.

There may be a page at microsoft explaining your exact error and what you need to do to cure it. Read carefully though because your error will be similar to many other errors and their solution may not be yours.

Another option is to just restart in safe mode...restart and press F8 during the restart to see startup options. Choose safe mode from the list. This loads the bare minimum of drivers. If PO runs fine in that mode, you may then begin to narrow things down...

As someone said earlier it may be a third party program or third party service which is interfering. It's a bit fiddley to find the cause sometimes but you can use msconfig to disable startups...(or use autoruns and process explorer from sysinternals they are better)

start>run>type msconfig
...on the General tab, click Selective Startup button..

uncheck...load startup items...

then go to services tab...hide all microsoft services and uncheck all the others (oh and remember which things you check and uncheck so you can put them back later)

This is just a process of elimination. Do the above first ..ok it in msconfig and then restart your computer normally and run PO - see what happens. If it cures itself (if it doenst cure itself then see below*)then you know that either one of the start up items is to blame or one of the non-microsoft services.
You can start putting the startup items back one by one (or two by two if you'd rather) using msconfig (a list of your startup items will be found on the msconfig startup tab)

*It doesnt cure itself...go back to msconfig > general tab>selective start up and then click to clear all check boxes except the Load System Services check box.
Apply and OK that, rebstart and run PO again.

It's not easy to type every single stage on here but the above steps and any further steps you take using msconfig are a process of elimination. Take out and put back the startup items and the non-microsoft services. Hopefully sooner rather than later you will find the bad potato.

When you have located the particular driver causing the problem. You can uninstall. Either by uninstalling the program using control panel>add remove programs or by uninstalling a driver with My Computer>Properties>Device Manager.

If the program is an essential one then you may need to reinstall it and get a driver update.
(however an uninstall and reinstall of that program may be all you need to be problem free) A free tool such as aida32 personal is a good one for giving you some more detailed information about your particular hardware, should you need to get updates for your video or sound card etc.

A java issue has been mentioned on the forums. I don't know if this could be a problem. It's possible, usually, to uninstall java from control panel>add/remove programs - Java in the list.
You can verify your current java installation here
You can get previous versions of java from java.com if you need to...dunno whether I would though, the updated versions generally are a cure for bugs in previous versions.

If it does turn out to be a video card problem - and you have got the latest drivers and installed those..then I don't know. I'd have to dig a beat deeper and eat some more potatoes.

It would be a shame to pay out $100 or so for a useful program and then see it go to waste.

Well...
Thank you very much for such a detailed answer. I am at work now so i'll have to wait later to do what you say.
(sorry for my broken english... )
I will try to solve my problems with PO since i saw it working on a friend's computer and loved it. So I'm willing to give it a try.
I am really disapointed though, that no moderator and no developer could help us, since the bug is happening at the very moment of leaving the app. Someone give them a good video of what happen. PO developpers should know exactly what the program does at that moment. They could at least tell us what it is, so we could narrow our researchs.. But instead, they didnt even answer.

A great thank 7earplug, i might never use PO, but with your answer, i will have learned a lot, which is always usefull !!

No problem Grrrr...

I hope you get things sorted. I was having a bit of fun in my post above..I'm not quite an alcoholic and I don't like bears much.

The info I gave may hopefully lead you to a solution, but it's so much easier to do in practice than it is to write on here.

I should of said in the above...when you have accessed your blue screen and taken down the info - restart by using the reset button on the front of your pc ( or just use the shutdown button and restart normally)

..also, the elimination process using msconfig should be done after a normal reboot and not safe mode.
I suggested trying safe mode above, since other third party drivers and programs will not be running while you're in safe mode. If PO does run ok in safe mode, you can assume that some other software is causing the problem rather than the PO program itself.
