Default Blue screen when shutting down PO

I emailed about this but I will post it here so if someone else has the same problem he can search for it.

Every time I close the PokerOffice software my screen turns blue and the computer restarts. I use Windows XP and have the latest version of Java. Zone Alarm asks me everytime if I want to allow PO and I always do. To be sure I just opened and closed the software and again the blue screen and the restart. Here's the log file:

In this thread a user regressed to an older version of Java which solved the problem. He had a similar problem but it happened to him when he was playing 5-15 minutes. Error: "Validate Settings"
I'm not sure if I should do the same and frankly don't even know how.

Thanks for looking into this.

I have received your email, but unfortunately I'm not completely sure what's causing this. I will look through your email with one of the developers shortly.

I recorded what happens when I close the software and put it on youtube:

YouTube - PO Blue Screen

Not good quality but you will have an idea what happens.

When the computer restarts it asks me if I want to send an error report. I did and this is what I got (It was in Dutch and my translation isn't very good):

Problem caused by Device Driver

Problem type: Windows stop-error (a blue screen appears with information about the error)
Is there a solution available: No
Cause: Unknown
Computersymptoms: Blue screen with information about the error
Technical information: Solve in Windows XP (Q322205)

This must be some kind of thrid part software issue. PO itself on a healthy computer shoulf not cause any blue screen.

Try to figure out if you have any antivirus/registry/spyware/firewall software that is working on the lowest layer and in some way is blocking PO.

There is one known crash (which possibly also could cause blue screen). This occurs when playing on PokerStars and PO is not installed correctly (again due to antivirus/firewall software that simply refuse to let PO save files and run them on your computer).

Do you play in PokerStars? If you do, you can check one thing: after you have started PokerStars but before you start PO (you must not have started PO at all after restart of the computer) bring up the Task Manager (press Ctrl+SHIFT+Esc keys) look in the Process list; can you see any process called javaw.exe here? If not you have a problem with one or more of your security software.

Thanks for the reply.

I checked it and javaw.exe was running and used 11.508 kb of memory. For no reason at all I closed it and the Pokerstars software closed immediately.

In the email I send I said it started when I installed my new videocard. I will try other drivers and see what happens. Don't know where to find any so this will probably take a couple of weeks. Will let you know what happens or if someone has a solution let me know.

Guess my supernova challenge will have to wait.

I have the same problem. when shutting down PO my system crashes (blue screen).

I would say I have a healthy system:
Windows XP32 Professional updated with automatic update.
PokerOffice
PartyPoker client.
MySQL
Java up to date.

That is all the software I have on this computer, no Antivirus just windows defender:

Hardware:
Motherboard: ASUS P5E3 deluxe
RAM 4×1 Gb RAM (1600 MHz)
Intel Q6600 cpu
ASUS EAH 3850 graphics card.

BIOS and all drivers up to date 2008-03-17

It is kind of ironic that PO will not work on this computer since I bought it only for PokerOffice and Party poker to run smooth, not intending to do anything but play poker with this computer.

I have noticed that I can shut down PO if I have left it on for a few hours, enough for pokeroffice to fail to refresh if that gives you a clue.

Please ask me and I will provide you with any info you need, I would really like to have this resolved.
