Thanks for the information.

Our developers have unfortunately not yet been able to remake the file in a way McAfee is happy with.

Default German article

I found a German article about this.

Bankroll.de - Poker 2.0 » Virus oder Trojaner in PokerOffice?

Obviously it's really just a false positive. You guys should rewrite the file or so, because it frightenes the hell out of every decent real money player who sees the trojan warning

Thanks for posting the link, therealmarkus. It's of course not the kind of publicity we're looking for, hence we are trying to remake these files, but it's not all that easy I'm afraid. We have changed a couple of files in the past, but in those cases we only had to change the compression form.

Again, we're still looking into this, and hope to be able to come up with a solution. In the meantime we recommend eveyone that is still worried to send the file(s) in question to their antivirus software provider so they they can assure the files are indeed harmless.

Well I have now joined the club of PO not working with McAfee. I tried to read through the thread and just came to then end. Is there any fix? I had to download McAfee today (with Comcast it's free) and it keeps removing a trojan horse when I ope PO. Tried running virus scan and restoring files but PO still won't open? Am I SOL?

Hmm, PokerOffice should be possible to open even if FTPL.exe is blocked. Could you please send your log file to support@pokeroffice.com? You can find it at c:/program files/pokeroffice/log/systemlog.txt.

Default What will happen?

I have a few questions.

I like everyone else on this thread basicly have a useless piece of software. I have had it around 6 months and it probably worked 10 days during that time. For one reason after another the software had major bugs and would stop working the incompatability with mcafee being the latest seems like it won't be fixed soon.

my questions:

1. did I miss something and there is a fix out there?
2. if not will we be getting a credit for all this down time?
3. When my subscription comes up for renewal will I be notified or will it just happen?

I understand how difficult what you are trying to do is but at some point if you ever want us to buy a product from your company again you'll need to consider your customers.

I appreciate your efforts and hope you get it working soon.

Hello,

Please note that this is a false positive warning, reinstall the latest patch but this time ignore the warning.

Follow these steps:
1. Restart your computer (VERY Important)
2. Download and install http://www.pokeroffice.com/update.exe
3. Make sure that you restart the computer when/if prompted
4. Start PO and try again

Does it work now? If not please send us your latest log.

With my subsciption due for renewal with McAfee I decided to trial Norton Internet Security 2009.
It detects the trojan but classifies it as low risk and gives me the choice of whether to delete or not.
Be aware that Mcafee may also cause problems with LimeWire.

All works well with v2.50.
