Post Manage in AVG Free

If you're using AVG or AVG Free, making it allow PokerOffice is relatively easy.

Open the user interface either from the Windows Start->Programs->AVG Free 8.0->AVG User Interface
or by right clicking on the tray icon, and clicking Open AVG User Interface.

Go to Resident Shield. Click manage exceptions. Add the directory of the offending component. Of course, this means you're trusting that PO never comes with a virus!

Unhappy Virus Problems

My Antivirus software (McAfee) identified "ftpl.exe" as virus "AdClicker-FC.gen.c". I have to deactivate virus scanning to use this feature. This is not what I like to do.

I do understand that. It doesn't help at all if you put the file on your safe list while you have deactivated the virus scanning?

Default Totally Lost

I should have checked out PO first before I sent in my Money for a registered copy . It probably would have saved me a lot of grief and hair pulling. I down loaded the software and immediately whipped out my credit card to get a registered copy and even paid for insurance. Within 2 minutes of finishing up the transaction My Avast Anti virus software told me that I had a Trojan virus and wanted to know if I wanted it to quarantine it. Of course I did . When I went out on Poker Stars and started up PO nothing worked.

After many hours of reading and punching every button I then removed PO from the system. Then I re-loaded it again. This time I did not get a Trojan message. However PO still does not work.
I am using windows XP and playing on Poker Stars

Any Suggestions ?

We haven't heard of ani antivirus programs blocking any of our PokerStars files, so I think your problem is something else. Have you read our PokerStars FAQ thread (in the FAQ section)? If you already have, and still can't get it working, it'd be great if you could send your PokerOffice log file, which you can find at c:/program files/pokeroffice/log/systemlog.txt, to support@pokeroffice.com.

Thanks!

Same here. This is crazy. Why would we put a trojan on the safelist? Not to mention, McAfee doesnt allow
us to add harmful files to a safelist. It wont even let me restore the file from the quarantine log.

Hello,

Please note that this is a FALSE positive, and the file is not harmful.

If so, please try this:

1. Open McAfee
2. Go to McAfee security center
3. Disable everything at Computer & Files

Now Reinstall our latest patch:
1. Restart computer
2. Download and install http://www.pokeroffice.com/update.exe
3. Restart computer

Can you find FTPL.exe now?

Thanks

Default Dont Install PO if you get it in your inbox

Hey there,

I got a lovely version of PO in my yahoo inbox. Said I could use it for free for a year. That seems very suspicious.

Moderator, do you want me to forward you the email so you can try and track this hacker butthead down?

I ALMOST opened it but then some thing clicked in my head and said dont. That and I dont trust yahoo's virus scanning(yea it is norton so what? I prefer Kaspersky)

So be warned!!

Hello Dave,

Thanks a lot for letting us know about this. It would be great if you could forward the e-mail to support@pokeroffice.com.

Do you already have a PokerOffice license?

Thank you
