Downloaded the new pnthandler.dll file and copied it into the PO folder - no longer detected as infected by AVG (free). InjLib.dll still identified as infected.

Was able to get PO to run after deactivating AVG Resident Shield - BUT ONLY ONCE - ON SECOND ATTEMPT I COULD NOT GET PO TO RUN AGAIN.

Anyone else experience this "One time only" fix???

AVG still seeing InjLib.dll as infected - could we get a new version of this file as well????

Default Virus scan

Ok.. I have experienced the same problem recently and I have yet to fix it. My AVG software found the so called Trojan horses that I did not commit to memory and deleted them. Now I cannot open up PO. I have read the discussion tread and understand whats happening, however not only can i not find the deleted files I cannot find my AVG fault.

Please help and advise the protocol..

Thanks.

Default Avg

Ok.. I found the files in question that i believe AVG removed and forced PO to fail.

InjLib.dll
pnthandler.dll

However Im not sure what to do next.

I restored these 2 files from AVG's vault and, however PO still wont open and AVG alerted me again about their virus's.

Any suggestions ?

What worked for me:

AVG free ed. 7.5
Windows XP

1) Go to Virus Vault and delete the two "viruses" from the Poker Office folder
2) Run the most recent patch of Poker Office (2.35)
3) Reboot
4) Replaced the file "pnthandler.dll" with the modified one from admin. (See page 8 of this thread)
5) Run Poker Office

Poker Office now opens although AVG still treats the other file as a virus.

Have only tried to open Poker Office, so do not know how it performs when actually playing poker, and have neither tried to open Poker Office again. (Since I do not plan on playing poker tonight )

Default Worked for me

To be specific....

Turn off Resident Shield, close AVG manager, run the update, reboot the computer, replace the pnthandler.dll file, run PokerOffice then turn AVG and resident shield back on.

After this process PO will open with AVG & resident shield on for me while it does catch the InjLib.dll as a threat. Just hit ignore and it seems to work fine.

I did the same thing as Pinarphan, just click the ignore button at startup and everything works just fine.

Same for me!

But now I have pnthandler1.dll through pnthandler7.dll . Can these all be deleted?

Happy to hear that most of you have got it to work with the new file. It must have been the compression of the file that the antivirus reacted to (Imo this is a really bad idea of the antivirus company, not everyone want ot use Winzip...).

The other file Injlib.dll, is also flagged as virus/trojan. It is of course not! However we can not change this file in any way, it is not the compression in this case. This file is used for tracking the OnGame poker software. If you do not play there you do not have to care about this file. If you do, you must tell your antivirus program to not tamper with this file. All antivirus software should be able to exclude it and if it can not I strongly recommend you to change to an other better antivirus software, since honestly you will be better off. (A good idea would also be to contact your antivirus company and ask them how to do this since they should know more about their software than we do)

For those that can not get anything to work.. the most 101 solution would be to uninstall both antivirus and PokerOffice. Then reinstall first PokerOffice (replace the pnthandler.dll file) and then install the antivirus software. And whatever you do do not let the antivirus software block/remove/quaranteen any files in PokerOffice (if you do you can not expect PO to work)

Someone asked if pnthandler1-7 could be removed, no they can't.
