Same Problem, but...
... I think I found the basic cause.
I had noticed exactly the same problem - I couldn't open tournaments where I finished first (but only after August 23, see below...). Tournaments I finished 2nd, 3rd, ... didn't have that problem. I play 6 player sngs at Pokerstars.
Over the last two years it was not the first time I noticed the 'old hands' message, so I tried what I (successfully) used to do in a situation like this - the manual import function vs. 'load hand history from file'. But after the import the systems tells me 'Successfully imported [0] new hand histories of [0]'. The tournament still can't be opened. After that I deleted the specific tournament and tried to import the data again. Same outcome...
Next I created a new database and imported this tournament. After selecting my screen name there is data displayed in the 'overview' section, but not in the tournament section. It looks like only the tournaments 'header' is imported. Strange... Then I cleared the database and imported a (today's ) tournament where I finished 2nd. Same problem.
Then I compared the textfiles of August 23 and August 30:
PokerStars Game #19832077750: Tournament #103821167, $6.00+$0.60 Hold'em No Limit
- Level I (10/20) - 2008/08/23 - 08:37:17 (ET)
PokerStars Game #20144076672: Tournament #106214762, $6.00+$0.60 Hold'em No Limit
- Level I (10/20) - 2008/09/04 15:03:08 ET
There's a visible difference in the format of date and time. I now substituted the new format with the old format and everything works fine again... Now I'm looking forward to a patch.
Glad I could help, Steve
