Introduction

PokerOffice is a program designed to help you improve your poker playing skills. With PokerOffice, you can track all of your opponents' actions to help you identify weaknesses in their games. You can also review your actions to help identify and plug "leaks" in your own game.

PokerOffice automatically keeps track of your games, while you are playing; so, you always have instant access to the most up-to-date information on your opponents, without having to manually import hand histories. PokerOffice stores all of the collected data and lets you view that data in the form of reports, spreadsheets and graphs; you can view your own data as well as the data from any opponent from any of your games. During play, PokerOffice also provides you with Live Tracker Windows that display real-time opponent modeling of the players you are currently facing, as well as real-time probabilities of future hands, hand rankings, Pot Odds, live graphs and statistics

PokerOffice is made up of four main modules:

  • Main Program: When you begin PokerOffice, you start in the Main Program. In the Main Program, you can view and analyze data from your ring games and your tournament play. You can also get reports, graphs and spreadsheets of your own and your opponents' play. The main program is also the starting point for the Live Tracker and the Replayer.

  • Live Tracker: Live Tracker has two main functions. It automatically imports poker hands into your PokerOffice database and it gives you live, real-time access to statistics about your play and the play of your opponents. When you use Live Tracker (and you usually should be using it when you're playing) a separate Live Tracker window will open for each table that you're sitting at.

  • Poker Table Overlay: PokerOffice can place the statistical data that you want directly over your poker tables. The Overlay is fully customizable, and allows you to see whatever information you want without having to switch windows

  • The Replayer is a tool that allows you to graphically replay any hand in your PO database. The replayer lets you replay a hand step by step, with information about outs and odds and the same overlay that you use on your poker tables.

Getting started

System requirements

  • Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP (Windows 2000/XP for the Live Tracker and table overlay)
  • Minimum 1 GHz processor, recommended 2+ GHz
  • Minimum 128 Mb RAM, recommended 256+ Mb
  • Minimum 50 Mb free disc space, recommended 100+ Mb

Note that we do not recommend using PokerOffice with Windows 95/98/ME as you will only have limited functionality. You will be able to import hand histories manually, view data, and replay hands. On most sites, however, the real-time live tracking features will not function.

Installation

  • Download the installation file from http://www.pokeroffice.com
  • Double click the down loaded file to start the installation
  • Follow the instructions given by the installation program

Registration

PokerOffice installs as a fully-functional trial version. The trial version allows you to import up to 300 hands and to use all of PokerOffice's analysis, graphing and replayer tools. To import more than 300 hands, you'll need to get a license.

After you get a license, you will receive a set of registration keys which must be entered into PokerOffice to register the program. Note that when you register, PokerOffice will still remember all of the hands you imported during the trial phase. So, you don't need to reimport those hands.

After you receive your registration keys you should enter them into the program here: PokerOffice Help menu -> Enter Registration Keys. Note: since it can be hard to distinguish a zero from the letter O and so forth, you might find it easier to copy and paste the keys from the registration email that PokerOffice will send you. You can use the Ctrl-C command to copy the marked text and Ctrl-V to paste the copied text into the registration window.

Start Using PokerOffice

PokerOffice works by collecting data from each of your games. That data is stored in your PokerOffice database and can be viewed during play (through the Live Tracker Windows and the Poker Table Overlay) or offline (through the Main Program and the Replayer). To start using PokerOffice, do the following.

  1. Collect Data

    • The first step is to begin collecting data. If you already have hand histories stored on your computer, you can import those hand histories into your database. Read more here.
    • Or you can collect data while you play, simply start the Live Tracker and your hands will automatically be imported. Read more about using Live Tracker here.
    • You can also use import hand histories directly from your POP3 email server. Read more here.
  2. Analyze Data While Playing

  3. Analyze Data Offline

  4. General Tips

    • MySQL - For most users, we recommend that you change your database engine to MySQL. This is a fast and simple process that will make PokerOffice run a lot faster, especially as your database grows larger. Read more about converting to MySQL here. Step-by-step instructions for converting your database to MySQL are available in the Appendix.
    • Select Name - Make sure that your own player name is selected as the default player in PokerOffice. This ensures that your data will load on startup, etc. Read more here.

Tips for advanced users:

  • Filter for Short-handed / Full Ring - You can configure your Live Tracker Windows and Poker Table Overlay to show data collected from short-handed tables or full ring games. This can give a more accurate picture of an opponent who has switched from one type of game to another.
  • View Data for ALL Blind Levels - to get More Detailed Statistics or view rake information for ALL of your blind levels, go to the Overview tab of the Main Program and click on the yellow summary row. The data you see will combine all blind levels
  • Combine Players / Create Alias- if you play on more than one site, or if you've used more than one screen name, you can combine all of your data from these aliases and view all of the combined data together.
  • Statistics - a definition of all statistics used in PokerOffice is now available. See the Glossary or the specific help section for definitions.
